Molly Day- Glass Jar
MOLLY DAY is on Friday, May 6. We will be doing a special art project and each girl will need to bring in a small glass jar. Please do not send anything over 8 oz. We do not need the lids, but please be sure to wash the jar in the dishwasher. Stinky jars are not fun! The girls should wear red, white, and blue on Molly Day.

Monday after Easter
On Monday, your daughter should bring in her poster-sized cut out of the animal for her book report. She should also bring in the craft supplies that will be needed to complete her project.
We will be celebrating Earth Day at school on Monday. It will be a BLUE JEAN DAY for the girls and another sack lunch day. Ms. Debra will have lunches ready for those girls who pre-ordered from her. We will be getting together to plant a tree and then having a big picnic on the front lawn.
Field Trip Reminders
The girls are looking forward to our field trip to the Pink Palace this Thursday! Please do not forget to pack her sack lunch with a drink (sodas are OK). Label both the drink and the bag. Please do not send a lunchbox or Tupperware containers that will need to be returned. Ms. Debra will have lunches ready for those girls who pre-ordered from the cafeteria. Moms, who are chaperones, bring your lunch, too! Some girls will need to bring their booster seats to school with them on Thursday. If marked on your Tuesday letter, please remember to send her booster seat in that morning. The girls should dress nicely that day and wear tennis shoes. Driver’s info (copy of license and insurance) should have already been sent in to the classroom teacher. We must have that on file for every driver. Remember that all parents are welcome to join us at the Pink Palace and pay for your admission/I-Max fee at the door.

Amazing Photos from Hawaii
Kate requested I put these on my blog...."Here you go, Kate!"
Info about pictures:
Waimea Bay shore-break surfing pioneer, husband, and father of two, Clark Little has gained nationwide recognition for his photography on National Television. It all started in 2007 when Clark ' s wife wanted a nice piece of art to decorate a wall.
Clark quickly grabbed a camera, jumped in the water, and starting snapping away capturing the beauty and power of monstrous Hawaiian waves from the inside out. " Clark ' s view" is a unique view of the ocean that most will only be able to experience safely on land while studying one of Clark ' s photos.
Now with a camera upgrade and an itch to get that better shot, Clark has taken this on full time and has moved his office from land to the inside of a barrel. Since the recent stir of Clark ' s work, his images have been run on the Today Show, ABC World News Now, Nature ' s Best Photography, Paris Match(France), La Vie ( France ), Hana Hou (Hawaiian Airlines) magazine, Surfer magazine,Surfer ' s Journal as well as multiple publishers and newspapers in the U. S. and overseas.
These incredible images of waves in the Hawaiian Islands were taken by Clark Little, the number one photographer of surf.

For Parents
I enjoyed meeting with each of you at conferences. A few of you asked about a summer reading list for 3rd grade...Below is the response I got from the librarians.
Yes, they will get a recommended reading list (there is no requirement for
3rd) and it will be available on the website in May. We did not send paper
copies last year. Also, we will be sending information about the optional
summer reading project.(ex: flowers, t-shirts, sailboats). We don't have our
theme yet, but will soon.
